Liverpool are set to make a move for Atalanta midfielder Ederson after being left impressed during a recent scouting trip, according to reports.
The Reds are expecting a busy summer as they await the arrival of Arne Slot, who officially replaces Jurgen Klopp and becomes their new manager on June 1.
Ahead of his arrival, Liverpool have already begun looking at potential transfer options and have reportedly identified a possible midfield addition.
According to Tuttosport, the Reds are considering a move for Atalanta’s Ederson after the Brazilian caught the attention of scouts at a recent game.
The outlet claim that Liverpool sent scouts to Italy in order to watch fellow midfielder Teun Koopmeiners – who has been closely linked with the Reds.

However, Ederson’s performance in the match was enough to catch the eye of scouts and he’s now been tipped for a move to Anfield.
The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign for the Serie A side, as he scored six goals and picking up one assist from his 35 appearances in the campaign.
Last month, the Reds were strongly linked with a move for Ederson’s team-mate Koopmeiners, as they look to bolster their midfield during the summer.
Atalanta are reported to have set an asking price of £50million for the 26-year-old midfielder.
The Dutch international would be reunited with Slot should he move to Anfield.
He previously played under Slot during the Dutchman’s sole year in charge of AZ Alkmaar back in the 2019-20 season.

Koopmeiners has enjoyed an impressive season with the Bergamo based club, scoring 15 and providing seven assists from midfield in 50 appearances.
The midfielder was part of the Atalanta side who stunned Liverpool in the Europa League quarter-finals, before going on to win the competition.
The Serie A side caused a huge upset as they won the first leg 3-0 at Anfield, after former West Ham forward Gianluca Scamacca scored twice.
Liverpool won the second 1-0 but were unable to overhaul their deficit, ending Klopp’s hopes of a fairytale end to his time with the Reds in Europe.
