The Script lead singer Danny O’Donoghue has reworked lyrics to one of the band’s hit singles to pay tribute to Manchester United’s FA Cup final hero Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo scored Man United’s crucial second goal at Wembley on Saturday, adding to Alejandro Garnacho’s opener against Man City.
The academy graduate’s strike ultimately proved to be the winner with Jeremy Doku pulling one back for Premier League champions Man City late on.
Man United supporter O’Donoghue shared took to social media following the Red Devils triumph, with the Irish vocalist singing a reworked version of The Script hit ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’.
O’Donoghue’s new lyrics paid tribute to Man United’s teenage goalscorers, while also giving a nod to the uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Erik ten Hag.

The Script’s lead singer was seen in a Man United tracksuit and said ‘Come on United’ before singing a revised version of the chorus.
‘He’s the Mainoo can’t be moved,’ O’Donoghue.
‘Cas it’s the FA Cup and you’re playing City, and you’re heart starts to wonder is Ten Hag gonna leave.
‘Then that boy Garnacho goes and puts us in the lead.
‘You’ll hear us there at Wembley all standing on our seats.

Man United’s triumph at Wembley marked a perfect end to a difficult season for the club, following their eighth place finish in the Premier League.
