Man United’s Loan Deal for Facundo Pellistri with Granada Hits a Roadblock over Salary Contribution, as Red Devils Seek to Persuade Young Talent Omari Forson to Remain at the Club

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri’s move to Granada has stalled as the Old Trafford club tries to convince Omari Forson to stay.

Uruguayan Pellistri was eager to move to La Liga but Granada were only offering to make a token contribution to his salary.

Talks are ongoing and other clubs are interested but the other concern for United is that talented 19-year-old Omari Forson has still to commit to a new contract and Erik ten Hag wants to ensure there is enough cover should Pellistri leave.

Forson, who made his debut in the FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic has been described as ‘exceptional’ by academy director Nick Cox, is out of contract in the summer and has yet to agree on a new deal.

If he doesn’t commit then United may have to consider what role he plays between now and May. The England U20 international has interest from rival clubs and was previously with Tottenham and West Ham’s academies.

United expect Dan Gore to complete his loan move to Port Vale today while Accrington Stanley have rekindled interest in United’s Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek.

Cardiff City have been showing an interest in defender Will Fish while he is on loan at Hibernian but the recall date for he 20-year-old has passed meaning he will stay in Scotland.

Meanwhile, United continue to be linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s ex-Stoke City forward Eric Choupo-Moting but talks have still to take place over a late loan.
