Manchester United have reportedly decided against appointing Gareth Southgate as their new manager.

According to The Mirror, Southgate could be eager to manage in club football again.

However, United are said to have chosen not to name Southgate as their new boss as the timelines do not align.

The FA are reportedly prepared to give Southgate a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in December.

United have been linked with a host of other managers amid suggestions that they could dismiss Erik ten Hag.
