NBA superstar LeBron James fired a hilarious dig at a journalist wearing a Manchester United tracksuit.
The four-time NBA champion first bought a two per cent stake in Premier League rivals Liverpool in 2011 for £4.7million with business partner Maverick Carter, the same year FSG bought the Reds for £300m.
James has routinely been seen in Liverpool attire and has made public shows of support for the side during their years of success under Jurgen Klopp.
The 40-year-old proved that his gestures over the years have not been performative as he was unable to control himself when faced with a journalist in Red Devils gear.
‘That a horrible jacket by the way,’ James told LA Lakers reporter Mike Trudell. ‘Oh my god, that is a horrible f***ing thing.’
Trudell saw the funny side as James playfully pretended to rip the United crest off his tracksuit top.

The Reds’ performance in recent years has certainly given James and other Anfield shareholders plenty to smile about. In March 2021, James converted his stake in Liverpool to a one per cent share in FSG’s global empire.
As well as Liverpool and the Red Sox, FSG also owns the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team, 80 per cent of New England Sports Network and half of Roush Fenway Racing.
In 2022, Forbes estimated James’s FSG take to be worth £74m.
Both James and Liverpool have long-standing agreements with Nike, though the Anfield club’s deal with the sportswear giant is set to end at the end of the season.
The basketball great first signed a deal Nike 2003 at age 18, before penning a lifetime deal in 2015, which is claimed to be worth ‘tens of millions’ a year.
In June 2022, Forbes named James as the first active NBA player to become a billionaire.
He released a special clothing range in collaboration with the club last year. The LFC X LeBron collection featured both a fashion and footwear range which the club said ’embodies a long-standing connection between two global sporting icons, celebrating our shared values and illustrious histories’.
