Sofyan Amrabat provides important insight into his future with Manchester United following key performance in FA Cup victory against Manchester City

Sofyan Amrabat has provided an updated up on his future after starring in Manchester United’s FA Cup triumph.

The Moroccan had a disappointing loan stay at Old Trafford this season, making 30 appearances since joining from Fiorentina in the summer, with just nine starts coming in the Premier League during a spell that has failed to live up to its billing.

Expectations were high for the midfielder when he arrived at United but his form has been inconsistent, leading to doubts over whether United will trigger their buy option.

Amrata has revealed he’s keen to stay at United permanently and will sit down with the club to discuss his future.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, he said: ‘Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk. Staying is certainly an option.

‘Look, I think it has been a very difficult season. For Manchester United it needs to be much better, and also for me personally. We are going to talk.

Manchester United are the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here? But all parties have to be happy with each other, so we will sit down now and see what happens.’

Amrabat, who at times filled in at left-back, was one of United’s better performers towards a turbulent campaign which ended in them winning the FA Cup after beating Manchester City, a match he started.

The 27-year-old former Feyenoord and Utrecht player is attracting offers from Saudi Arabia, and could move there at the end of the season, though may also remain in the Premier League.

Palace, meanwhile, are said to have been impressed by the midfielder’s performance in their 4-0 win over United just weeks ago, with the club set to back new manager Oliver Glasner in the market.

It is reported that the Eagles see Amrabat as a player who can take the club to the next level.

Fulham could also be the next destination for him as they will look for a replacement for Joao Palhinha, who head for the exit this summer.
