Indeed, Rivaldo goes as far as to say that Antony is good enough for any big team in Spain.

What did Antony say?

“He’s currently at a club that’s been going through difficult times for a while now, so in my opinion leaving England could be good for him,” Rivaldo said.

“Moving to a side in Spain, Germany or Italy could be fundamental for his progression now.

“With his skills and the football that he can play, I think that he would fit very well into any big team in Spain, for example.”

Antony at Man Utd

Antony joined from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for €100 million and big things were expected of Erik ten Hag’s former pupil.

However, Antony has been an unmitigated disaster at Old Trafford. He bagged just four Premier League goals in his inaugural season and looked well short of the physical, mental and even technical levels required to play for such a big team.

This season, Antony has been even worse with just one Premier League goal and one assist.

Despite this, Ten Hag has often persisted with Antony in the starting XI but things have gone from bad to worse for the Brazilian.

It is widely reported that Man Utd will look to sign a replacement for Antony in 2024.
