Flick to replace Xavi

Multiple reports indicate that former Bayern Munich and Germany head coach Hansi Flick has agreed to take over from Xavi.

Sport reports that Flick has agreed a contract with Barcelona that will see him earn €3 million per year, which is said to be a discount because of the club’s difficult financial position.

On top of this, the German is in line to receive a bonus of €1 million if he wins the Champions League or €750,000 if he can lead Barcelona to LaLiga.

The chief motivation for Flick to move to Barcelona, it is reported, is to win titles and to engage with the grassroots of football once again to develop foundations for the future.

Barca’s announcement to appoint the German is expected soon, with many sources indicating that his contract has already been signed.
