Jadon Sancho could be set to finally seal a Manchester United exit in January following reports that Borussia Dortmund are actively working on a deal to re-sign the Englishman on loan.

Sancho, 23, has been banished from the Manchester United squad since his public bust-up with Erik ten Hag in September, and he has been heavily linked with a winter transfer.

RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have all expressed their interest in Sancho’s services, although a concrete proposal has not yet been submitted by any club.

However, Dortmund are now working on a six-month loan move for Sancho, with talks ongoing, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

Sancho is reportedly eager to re-join Dortmund, while “all parties involved are now working on a solution,” as per Plettenberg.

Man Utd hold all the cards, however, and must be open to loaning Sancho out for the final six months of the 2023-24 campaign.

This news has been confirmed by both David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, suggesting that a return to Dortmund is very close.

West Ham enter Jadon Sancho race

Borussia Dortmund aren’t the only club keen on landing Sancho in January as The Daily Mail have reported that West Ham United are among several teams monitoring his situation at Old Trafford.

The Hammers are hoping to bolster their attacking options in January, as seen by their pursuit of Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, and they have identified Sancho as a possible target.

But, David Moyes is reportedly reluctant to bring in Sancho on a six-month loan deal and the Englishman’s huge wages mean that West Ham may be unable to fund a move.

As a result, a return to the Bundesliga may be more realistic, although West Ham would be able to offer Sancho the chance to stay in the Premier League.

The ex-Dortmund forward scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 games during his first spell at the Signal Iduna Park.
