Premier League 2023/24 summer transfers: All the Done Deals and Signings for every club

The Premier League summer transfer window is open ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, with the expectation of another big-spending market from the world’s richest league.

The January 2023 transfer window proved to be just as exciting in the Premier League, given the incredible wealth football’s richest league boasts. Indeed, the Premier League blitzed the rest of Europe, spending more than double on its own than the rest of Europe’s big five leagues combined.

In January, Chelsea broke their own record – which they set in the summer of 2022 – for the biggest spending spree in any transfer window in the history of football.

The 2023 summer transfer window, which opened on 14 June, is proving to be every bit as crazy, with Premier League clubs already spending obscene amounts of cash.

The first big transfer of the summer was confirmed at the start of May as Brighton paid £30 million for Watford attacker Joao Pedro. They also snapped up veteran James Milner and Mahmoud Dahoud on free transfers from Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.

Liverpool announced the £35m signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton in an impressive coup for the Anfield side, although add-ons could take this closer to £50m, before further adding to their midfield with the £60m capture of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have both left Anfield, however, with the pair moving to Saudi Arabia. The Reds moved to bolster their midfield with Japan captain Wataru Endo, who arrived from Stuttgart.

Meanwhile, the first major free transfer of the summer in the Premier League was unveiled by Aston Villa as they captured Youri Tielemans on a Bosman deal from relegated Leicester after his contract expired.

Chelsea saw club legend N’Golo Kante leave on a free transfer for the riches in Saudi Arabia. He was followed to the Saudi Pro League by Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly. Wolves have also sold Ruben Neves to Saudi side Al Hilal in a deal worth £47m.

Christian Pulisic joined AC Milan for £19m to follow Ruben Loftus-Cheek in swapping the blue of London for the red and black of San Siro. The Blues then shattered the British transfer record with the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton for £115m before adding Romeo Lavia for an initial £53m.

Arsenal completed the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65m, while Jurrien Timber joined for £34m. Declan Rice has now followed from West Ham for £100m plus £5m in add-ons, and David Raya has joined on loan from Brentford.

Across north London, Tottenham spent heavily on Leicester midfielder James Maddison and Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, as well as making Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski’s deals permanent. They also signed Manor Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Newcastle made Sandro Tonali their second signing of the summer as they prepare for life back in the Champions League. The Italian joined the St James’ Park outfit for a reported £60m.

The Magpies had already added Yankuba Minteh from Odense for £6m, and later acquired Harvey Barnes from Leicester and Valentino Livramento from Southampton. They did sell Allan Saint-Maximin to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli, though.

Champions Man City have seen Ilkay Gundogan and Benjamin Mendy depart on free transfers, while Riyad Mahrez has moved to Saudi Arabia. They have made two major signings so far in Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic. Gvardiol became the most expensive centre back of all time.

Man Utd took until 5 July to make their first signing of the summer as they splashed out £60m for Mason Mount from Chelsea. They also made the shock free transfer signing of Jonny Evans on a short-term deal, while Andre Onana has also joined from Inter Milan. Denmark sensation Rasmus Hojlund has arrived from Atalanta in a deal worth up to £72m.

Bournemouth started the summer well with the arrivals of Hamed Junior Traore (on a permanent deal from Sassuolo) and Justin Kluivert from Roma. They also signed Romain Faivre from Lyon, but loaned him straight to Lorient. Milos Kerkez was another Bournemouth addition, along with Alex Scott, Max Aarons and Tyler Adams.

The 2023-24 summer window opens its doors on Saturday June 10 and won’t close until 11pm GMT on Friday September 1.
