A championship performance was Anna Swan’s swan song as a North East golfer.

Swan joined older sister Lydia Swan as a gold medalist for a PIAA Class 2A girls tournament. The senior, who started Tuesday’s final round a stroke out of first place, recorded three birdie fours on Penn State University’s White Course en route to a 36-hole score of 1-under par 143.

Swan’s two-day total was two lower than the 1-over 145’s for West Middlesex’s Kate Sowers, another of District 10’s eight golfers in the field, and Warrior Run’s Hannah Rabb, the tournament’s defending champ.

Lydia Swan won her 2A girls state title in 2019. The 2022 North East graduate is currently a sophomore for Oral Roberts University’s Division I women’s golf team.

Anna Swan plans to join her sister at the Tulsa, Oklahoma, school next fall. She verbally committed to Oral Roberts earlier this season.

Hickory’s Luciana Masters (75-76—151, 7 over) tied for sixth and teammate and first-round leader Sasha Petrochko (72-81—153, 9 over) placed eighth. Other District 10 top 20 finishers included Wilmington’s Kaitlyn Hoover (10th, 14-over 158), Mercyhurst Prep’s Katie Caryl (t-11th, 15-over 159), Fairview’s Cora Hirz (t-14th, 19-over 163) and Hickory’s Ava Liburdi (t-17th, 22-over 166).
