Oct. 23—WOLFE CITY — Koby Brown and Casey Barbee shot 17-under-par for the second round to finish first on Sunday in the first flight of the inaugural Ranly Golf Tournament at Webb Hill Country Club.
Brown and Barbee finished with a 117 total for 36 holes that included rounds of 62 and 55.
Alfonso Rodriguez and Arturo Ramirez finished two strokes back in second place (60-59-119).
Caden Lewis and Caden Brown shot two 62s to win the second flight at 124.
Parker Hayes and Adin McDonald, who fired a pair of 63s for a 124 total, won a four-hole sudden-death playoff for second place. They eliminated the teams of Andy McAngus and Larry Thompson and Robert Moreland and Tom Neyra.
The first event attracted 18 teams. It is named for the late Charles Ranly and his surviving wife Shirley, who’ve owned and operated the Webb Hill Country Club for many years. The Ranlys have been recognized in a plaque presented by the Wolfe City Kiwanis Club.
It reads: “For their dedication, determination and devotion to making Webb Hill Country Club a superb venue for golf and social events. And for recognizing their unwavering generosity to the community.”
