FRAMINGHAM — The game of golf has long served as a common bond between Paul and Jason Parajeckas.

From playing with Arnold Palmer, to winning tournaments, to combining for a total of 25 hole-in-ones (Paul holds a slight edge at 24-1), the father-son duo has made many memories on the links over the years.

The two golf professionals from Worcester added another one Thursday when they teamed up to teach a clinic at PXG Boston in Framingham.

“We need to do it more,” Jason, 39, said.

“I’m glad we can spend time together,” Paul, 73, said.

Piling up the accolades

Growing up, Jason Parajeckas spent his summers raking the bunkers and cutting the greens at Woburn Country Club while his father served as superintendent.

From there, both Parajeckases embarked on golf journeys that took them all over New England and the country. A former standout golfer at the University of Connecticut, Jason’s top career highlight came when he won the New England Open in 2010.

“I was the proudest person on earth,” Paul said.

When asked to share his favorite memory of his father’s golf career — Jason had to think.

“How long you got?” Jason replied.

Paul’s golf résumé is a lengthy one that spans 50 years as a professional. Some crowning points include teeing off in a Champions Tour event with Gary Player and Palmer in 2005, winning the New England PGA Championship in 2009 and being inducted into the New England PGA Hall of Fame in 2012.

But Paul’s finest accomplishment came earlier this year — away from the course — with the birth of his first grandchild: Eliza.

“The most proud I’ve ever been is watching him now become a grandfather,” Jason said.

“She’s going to be a spoiled girl,” Paul said.

Teaming up with PXG

Jason Parajeckas started working as a club-fitting specialist with PXG in 2017. PXG is a sports equipment manufacturing company that designs, markets and sells custom-fitted golf equipment and products.

He’d work out of a van and travel to various golf courses in New England to help fit local memberships.

Now Jason serves as a regional sales manager with PXG, which has 22 locations in the United States.

“We have everything available for high-handicap players and low-handicap players,” said Jason, who lives in Waltham. “(We have) state-of-the-art technology, data and state-of-the-art equipment that really gives us the opportunity to bring a brand like this to not only Framingham and Massachusetts, but New England.”

With golfers ranging from four months of experience to 45 years, Jason and Paul taught a wedge-game tutorial for a little over an hour on Thursday inside the PXG location in Framingham.

Being able to share their expertise together was a nice moment for the father-son pair. It’s the latest chapter in a long line of golf memories for Paul and Jason Parajeckas.

“I’ve learned a lot of new things,” said Paul, who still lives in Worcester and is the head pro at Pleasant Valley Country Club. “I’ve learned a lot from Jason. I’m very proud of what he’s accomplished in his golf career, and I’m very proud to be a PXG staff member.”

“Being attached to him, a local legend, actually bigger than a local legend, stuff like this that we can do more of is unique because we bounce off each other and share the same passion,” Jason said. “I grew up learning from him. So a lot of my expertise has been driven from what he knows.”
