NBA: Preseason-New Orleans Pelicans at Orlando Magic

CJ McCollum will miss his 12th consecutive game Monday night when the Pelicans face the Jazz, all due to a collapsed lung he suffered back on Nov. 4 against the Hawks.

McCollum and the Pelicans are “aiming for his return” at home Wednesday night (76ers) or Friday night (Spurs) reports Shams Charania of The Atheltic.

Before his injury, McCollum averaged 21.7 points and 5.7 assists a night in the six games he played, shooting 38% from 3 in those contests. He provides needed shooting and shot creation for the Pelicans.

The Pelicans have been playing their best basketball of the season the past couple of weeks, going 5-2 in their last seven games with a +10.7 net rating and top-10 play on both ends of the court. McCollum could boost that and have the Pelicans starting to look like a threat in the crowded middle of the West.
