A Newcastle star has caught the eyes of several Premier League and Bundesliga clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

The player has struggled for minutes under Eddie Howe this season, having missed last summer’s pre-season tour due to a metarsal fracture.

He did not return until October 2024, and has since found it difficult to break into Newcastle’s starting XI behind the imperious midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton.

Lewis Miley was one of Newcastle’s success stories last season, making 19 starts and a further nine appearances off the bench in his breakthrough campaign.

But as Miley’s progress has been stifled in 2024-25, clubs around Europe have garnered a strong interest in the 18-year-old, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The Durham-born talent has four years left on his current deal, which expires in June 2029.

Miley has started just one game in the Premier League this season, and played a total of 219 minutes across 11 league games – an average of 20 minutes per game.

Meanwhile, he featured as a late substitute in two EFL Cup games but started all three of the Magpies’ FA Cup ties before they were bounced out of the competition by Brighton in the fifth round.

The England Under 21 international joined Newcastle’s academy at the age of seven before signing his first professional contract in May 2023.

In that same month, Miley made his Premier League debut, coming on as a substitute on 76 minutes against Chelsea.

In doing so, the midfielder became Newcastle’s youngest-ever Premier League player.

At 17 years and 229 days old, Miley scored his first goal for Newcastle in a 3–0 win over Fulham in December 2023. In doing so, he became the club’s the youngest-ever player to score in the Premier League.

The boyhood Newcastle fan has racked up two appearances for his U21 national team since debuting in November 2024.
