After Shaboozey was announced as the halftime performer at the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving Day game, NFL fans were spilt on the decision.  

Some did not know who the singer was, while others loved the move to bring in the Grammy-nominated singer into an NFL arena. 

The Lions play a divisional rival, the Chicago Bears, on Thanksgiving Day, in a game that will go a long way in deciding playoff positioning. 

Detroit is currently the top team in the NFC and has the second-best record in the NFL, only behind the unbeaten Chiefs.

Last year, singer Jack Harlow was the halftime act in Detroit and was widely panned for his performance. 

Shaboozey is nominated for five Grammy Awards in his first year on the ballot. 

In Dallas, which is the other NFL team that annually plays on Thanksgiving, country singer Lainey Wilson will be performing at halftime of the Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants.
