Vinicius Junior’s situation at Real Madrid continues to grow increasingly tense amid contract negotiations with the club.

Although Vini Jr has a deal that runs until June 2027, he has been in negotiations with Los Blancos for months but these have not reached a positive conclusion.

In the background, there have been reports that the Saudi Pro League is willing to offer him a bumper contract worth a total of €1 billion.

This has led to tension between Real Madrid and the player, with The Transfers Podcast in conjunction with FootballTransfers exclusively revealing that the board of the Spanish giants is growing increasingly frustrated with the attacker’s posturing.

Now Vini Jr has demanded that he receives a contract that matches that of Kylian Mbappe, according to Cadena Ser.

Real Madrid have rejected the Brazilian’s request and are said to be “surprised” by his stance after a campaign in which he struggled to shine individually. Even if he had been at his best, though, the report claims that he will “never be on the same salary as Mbappe”.

While more talks are planned, Real Madrid could be open to an astronomical sale of the player next summer, with reports indicating a €200 million switch to Saudi should not be discounted.

Real Madrid hit ‘jackpot’ with Mbappe’

Real Madrid have clearly positioned Mbappe as their marquee player after he scored 42 goals in 55 appearances last season.

It is even claimed that it was president Florentino Perez who urged the France international to take the No.10 jersey in a marketing stunt that the club believes will bring them in millions.

Marca reports: “Mbappe has not just inherited the No.10: he has accepted a legacy. And he is called to write a memorable chapter in the history of Los Blancos.”

The Spanish source reports that sales of the new Mbappe shirt after expected to produce record an “almost unprecedented boom” of shirt sales.

None of this is likely to go down too well in the Vini Jr camp, however.
