Zverev settles assault case with ex-girlfriend out of court

Alexander Zverev has reportedly settled his assault case with his former girlfriend out of court.

The German tennis player had been accused of ‘physically abusing and damaging the health’ of a woman during an argument that took place in May 2020.

It came just hours before he was set to appear in the semi-finals of the French Open, with journalist Jonathan Crane reporting the news on X (formerly Twitter) that ‘both parties have now reached an out-of-court settlement.’

The reporter adds that ‘there is no admission of guilt by Zverev.’

The World No 4, who clinched his first title of the season at the Rome Masters in May, will now face off against Casper Ruud in the semi-final of the men’s singles at Roland Garros on Friday, having beaten Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals on Wednesday in three sets.
