Saints’ Paulson Adebo Breaks Thigh Bone, Coach Reveals Injury Update

admin

New Orleans Saints starting cornerback Paulson Adebo has suffered from a broken right femur (thigh bone) during Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos.

Adebo was attempting to make a tackle on Broncos running back Javonte Williams when Williams collided into his leg with his head and shoulder.

Adebo was taken to the locker room on a cart after the injury – which was initially believed to be to his knee.

However, after the game, Saints head coach Dennis Allen confirmed that the injury was a broken femur.

The femur is the longest and strongest single bone in the human body, making it one of the hardest to break, according to Northwell Health.

According to the medical practice, femur fractures are more commonly associated with car crashes rather than athletics injuries.

So far this season, Adebo tallied 40 solo tackles and three interceptions (tied for third-best in the NFL) as he enters the final year of his current contract.

The Saints fell 33-10 at the hands of the Broncos – with their sole touchdown coming in garbage time.

New Orleans gained only 271 yards while Denver put up 389 yards. Williams ran for two touchdowns on the night while Broncos linebacker Cody Barton returned a fumble 52 yards for a defensive touchdown.

Broncos kicker Will Lutz went 4-for-4 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points.

With this loss the Saints fall to 2-5 on the season. They’ll look to rebound in ten days when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers.
