Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis watched on from the stands as Aston Villa took on his second team Olympiacos in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.
The Greek media tycoon owns both the Premier League side, Olympiacos and Portuguese side Rio Ave, and was spotted inside Villa Park, watching his side take a 2-0 advantage against Unai Emery’s side.
Villa, who have enjoyed a sensational season moving to fourth in the Premier League standings, are on the cusp of reaching their first European final since they won the European Cup back in 1982.
But Olympiacos put a huge dent in their hopes of winning silverware this season, with Ayoub El Kaabi scoring twice inside the first 30 minutes of the match, to give the visitors a commanding lead.
Marinakis, meanwhile, has been embroiled in Nottingham Forest’s explosive rant at Premier League officials following their 2-0 defeat by Everton.
