He made his final appearances for the Parisians during their Coupe de France final win over Lyon and he is due to be unveiled as a Real Madrid player before the start of Euro 2024.

Mbappe is set to play a key role for France at the European Championship and while on international duty he was asked why a move to Real Madrid failed to materialise in 2022.

He told the media (via Fabrizio Romano): “It was more than staying at PSG, it was a World Cup in Qatar… there were many things around these things.

“It was a big decision, a difficult decision but I don’t regret anything.”

When questioned whether his move to Real Madrid would be announced before Euro 2024, Mbappe replied: “I still don’t know, there are still some details. The most important thing was to win [the Coupe de France final] and to experience these final emotions.”

Mbappe has left PSG as their all-time record goalscorer with 256 goals in 308 games. He also provided 108 assists and won 15 trophies during his time at the club.
