Mauricio Pochettino received a welcome as he returned to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium for the first time since he was sacked by the club in 2019 for Spurs’ Premier League clash against Chelsea.
Having gone on to manage PSG before returning to the Premier League to replace Graham Potter at Spurs’ fierce rivals Chelsea earlier this summer, the Blues boss embraced Ange Postecoglou as the pair stepped out into the dug out ahead of the clash.
While some boos were expected, with former Spurs player Jermaine Jenas claiming that Pochettino had ‘crossed the line’ by joining the south London outfit and that he was walking into ‘boo central’ he received a much different reception, with fans in the stadium seeming to applaud the managers.
